Jodi Picoult said, "Some
lessons cannot be taught, they simply have to be learnt."
What a simple yet
profound thought!
Imagine, if you will, that you are playing cricket. It’s a
nice sunny day with good weather conditions. You are all geared up to face the
ball. But this game is not what you usually watch on TV or play…
In this game you cannot get out! Yes, you heard, or rather read it right. No one can beat you! There
is no wicket, no fieldsmen, no umpires as well. All you have to do is score as much as possible!
What would happen! You will strike some balls off the boundary rope, some will
fly off the stadium and some may get you 1 or 2 runs. At the same time there
will be those balls which you will have to duck, some that will not give you a
chance to run, the dead ones and the wide ones too… What I am trying to say is,
this is the game we all play…
It’s the game of life!
There
is no way anyone can make you feel anything you don’t want to feel. unless you
allow them to affect you with the negativity, no one in this world can get you
down! Life will throw all sorts of balls at you – full toss, bouncers, fast
ones and swingers… all you have to do is use your judgement and decide whether
to take it or let go!
The ones you play are the opportunities you took and "encashed" while the ones you left were the opportunities you missed. They are as
important as the ones you took. For the former tells you what you are capable
of the later teach you what you need to learn. Life will always present you
with endless opportunities… it’s up to you how you play them. In any case each
day will give you something to think about. For everyday is a “Lesson Learnt!”
I am no master in any field
but I do wish to give words to my thoughts and share it with anyone who is
interested to listen – Life will inevitably throw lemons at you. It is up to
you to take them and make lemonade! After all you cannot expect a lion not to
eat you because you are a vegetarian. So just take what makes you stronger and
reject what doesn’t! Maybe, you will find a way to be eternally happy!
